COVID-19 Safety at BAI

Policies and Procedures to Maintain the Health of Our Students, Faculty, and Local Community

As a comprehensive approach to health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented the following measures as they relate to the Bioregional Ayurveda Immersion:

  1. Adherence to CDC and Oregon state guidelines.

Banyan Farm regularly consults with Banyan Botanicals’ on-staff MDs and Ayurvedic practitioners and closely monitors the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and state guidelines from the Oregon Department of Health for updates and recommendations.

  2. Require incoming students to self-isolate before traveling and practice additional sanitary measures while traveling.

Students are asked to observe shelter-in-place guidelines for 14 days prior to arriving at Banyan Farm for the in-residence immersion. In some cases a COVID-19 test may be required, showing negative results prior to travel.

While traveling, students are asked to practice extra sanitary precautions, including frequent hand washing and sanitizing.

  3. Conduct a symptom pre-screening of students and incoming faculty prior to arrival.

  4. Conduct a symptom screening and quarantine upon arrival.

Students are screened for symptoms and complete a 14-day quarantine on the farm out of respect for the local community.

  5. Practice physical distancing, environmental sanitizing, and mask-wearing during immersion classes and when engaging with the local community.

This page may be updated as needed to stay current with recommendations from the CDC and state guidelines.
